Raipur Menopause Society had organised the 5th Annual State Conference- Menopausecon'23 on 15th and 16th July 2023 in association with the Dept. of Obs & Gynae, Pt JNM Medical College, Raipur. It was a two-day conference theme - "Unraveling Mystery of Menopause: Connecting Mind Body Soul."
The morning session on paper presentation started at 8 AM to 9 AM.
We had organized half day workshop on 15th July. it was a Live Operative Laparoscopic Workshop on Gynaec Oncology, 9 Am to 1 Pm. The cases demonstrated were laparoscopic anatomy, Laparoscopic Werthiem's Hysterectomy, Extended Hysterectomy & Surgery for carcinoma ovary with complete Omentectomy & Peritoneum Resection. The Live Laparoscopic Workshop was well attended and appreciated by all 175 + delegates in the hall. The operating faculties were Head of the Department of Oncology, Regional Cancer Centre, Raipur, and his team.
The operative workshop was followed by a Key Note on Metabolic Syndrome by Patron RMS, Dr. Abha Singh ma'am.
This was followed by lunch and the inauguration function of the conference. Our Chief Guest for the inauguration function was Dr Maninder Ahuja Madam, Guest of Honor Dr. Ambuja Madam, and Dr. Shobana Mohandas Madam. Our Distinguished guest Patron, Raipur Menopause Society Dr. Abha Singh and Dean Pt. JNMC, Raipur & Scientific Chairperson of the conference Dr. Tripti Nagaria were Gracing the Inauguration function.
Following this, there was RMS Oration - Compression of Morbidity by Dr Maninder Ahuja mam. A keynote address on Thickened Endometrium Management was given by Dr. Ambuja followed by a lecture on Fibroids at Menopause by Dr Jyoti Jaiswal. Panel discussion on Osteoporosis Management was well-received, followed by a lecture on the Management of Osteoarthritis by renowned Orthopaedician Dr Ankur Singhal. The program on the first day concluded with a Debate on HRT after Hysterectomy Indicated or not.
The first-day Cultural programme and Gala dinner were organized from 7:00 p.m. onwards. It had performances by the doctors for the doctors. The performances included 10 solo singing, 7 solo dances, 2 group dances, Theme dance on Phases of Life in Women, which was the main attraction, performed by our own RMS President Dr.Sushma Verma Madam & others. Another theme dance on Elements of Life was performed by 25 RMS members, including Patron RMS & Dean Pt. JNMC, Raipur.
The second day of the conference 16th July, kick-started with a paper presentation at 8 AM, judged by Dr. Maninder Ahuja, Dr. C Ambuja & Dr. Shobhna Mohandas. Lectures from 9:00 a.m. started with a bang. The lectures on Pruritus vulva, Vulvodynia, Chronic Fungal Infections, and Sexual Health at Menopause were well received by the audience. This was followed by a very interactive Panel on the Management of Breast Lump. Moderators & panelists were from the Oncology and Radiotherapy department of NH MMI Cancer Care Hospital.
Following this we had a session on Robotics and Gynaec Oncology and HIPEC in CA ovary by renowned Robotic Onco Surgeon and Radiation oncologist of Raipur.
The keynote address by Dr. Shobana Mohandas Madam on Dilemmas in Hysterectomy Borderline Cases, and the lecture on Lifestyle Modification at Menopause by Dr Maninder Ahuja was very well received by the audience.
A video presentation on the Surgical Management of Adenomyosis was given, and the Management of Premature Ovarian Insufficiency by Dr. Sushma Verma President of RMS.
Guest lecture on Aesthetic and Functional Gynaecology: Paradigm Shift, was given by our Guest speaker Dr Manish Mahajan from Mumbai. This was followed by RMS Oration - Depressive Disorders at Menopause by Dr Tripti Nagaria ma'am.
Keynote address on Endometriosis- Enigma after Menopause was given by HOD AIIMS Raipur Dr. Sarita Agrawal followed by a lecture by Dr. C Ambuja Madam on vaginal Microbiome at Menopause.
Lectures on PCOS in Mid-life with long-term implications, Peri Menopausal Bleeding, Vaginal Rejuvenation, and Surgical Menopause, were very well received by the delegates.
We had an expert Dermatologist talk on Skin Care at Menopause- Old Favourites with New Innovations. A renowned Plastic Surgeon of Raipur discussed Hair Problems & their management at Menopause.
A debate on Ovarian Preservation or Removal at 50 was conducted. The Concluding remarks on the same was given by Prof.Dr. Abha Deherwal.
The program concluded with a Panel discussion on Benign Ovarian Masses at Perimenopause, which was a very interactive concluding session of the conference.
During the Validation function, the winners of the paper & poster presentation senior and junior categories were announced, followed by felicitation of all the Academic Partners and Event people who contributed to the conference.
A vote of thanks was given by Dr Ritu Jain, Secretary RMS.
It was a very well-appreciated and organized conference with around 200 delegates from all over Chhattisgarh, with renowned Guest speakers from National IMS and other departments like Oncology, Oncosurgery, Radiation Oncology, Dermatology, Functional Aesthetics, Orthopedics and many more.
It was well appreciated by each and everyone who attended the conference. The Conference was a great learning experience for everyone who attended.
The icing on the cake was, 10 IMS credit points granted by IMS.
